We almost failed๐ญ๐ฅน๐โ๏ธ
So, yesterday, something crazy happened. ๐๐ฅน

We are still building and improving CrazyChess Battles, and we wanted to test the tournament functionality.
I didn't want us to test it internally. I wanted the community to test it with us, so that they could feel like they are part of this project from its infancy.
We had initially planned to do the tournament at 11AM yesterday, but more people voted to do it madzulo, so we agreed on 8PM.
We didn't even market it that much, but people still shared it, and we managed to get 12 players, including me.
I was very nervous because this was such a virgin test. ๐
And then 8PM came.
And everything crashed. ๐ฅน๐ญ๐
Pairings were made, but the games were a no-show. Players couldn't enter their games, and we immediately started scrambling to at least do something so that this test wouldn't collapse at the beginning.
I ended up rescheduling it to 8:45PM.
But when that time came, the tournament still wasn't ready.
I wanted to cry. ๐ญ
I told my dev team to do something, and I'm not gonna lie, I was tense.
People were still waiting.
For a whole hour.
And during all this, I had promised to reward the top 5 from my own pocket.
Finally, at 9:05PM, the tournament started.
5 rounds.
10-minute time control.
I was also playing, and even though I was supposed to focus on my games, I was constantly thinking about how we were going to see this test run through.
Players were reporting issues in the WhatsApp group, and we were noting everything down.
But all in all, we made it to the final round.
And we got our top 5. ๐
Then something even crazier happened.
The prizes were automatically credited into the players' CrazyChess wallets.
Some players requested withdrawals and actually confirmed receiving their winnings into their mobile money wallets.
The players were happy.
And everyone was visibly optimistic.
I still can't believe we pulled this off. ๐ฅน
It wasn't perfect.
There were problems.
There were delays.
There were moments when I genuinely thought the whole thing was going to collapse.
But we did it.
And honestly, that's what building something from scratch looks like.
This was our first real community test, and I'm incredibly grateful to everyone who showed up, waited with us, played, reported issues and helped us test the system.
We are only getting started.
And now we're doing it again. ๐๐ฅ
